Joy Maaouad

Born and raised in Michigan, I have grown over time into an artist specializing in photography. While my heart loves all forms of media, there is something special about being behind a lens that just evokes a form of joy that I haven’t experienced elsewhere, and being behind the camera is my happy place.

So, what is there to know about me other than what I do?

I love travel. I love sightseeing, embracing other cultures, and being in the moment. I also love getting to know the stories behind every person I encounter. Reading books is also my secret adoration, as it allows a person to travel without even leaving home.

There are some people very special to me that I also want to acknowledge here, with the first being my sons. I have four amazing boys who have really pushed me to embrace my passion for art and to do what I love. I also want to give thanks to Allah for my husband, whom I met in Morocco. Eventually I hope to bring him to the states to make our family complete, but in the meantime there will be trips between Morocco and Michigan, because my heart is in both places because of my kids living here.

I also have a few best friends who have pushed me to open this avenue and make my dreams come true. Thank you to Desiree, Samira, Alaa (both of you!), and so so so many more.
